Are you ever tempted to respond, like say on Twitter?
That’s something that I’ve had to learn to deal with with Twitter. I actively don’t search myself on Google. I’m not a glutton for punishment. I know what that will lead to. But with Twitter, people will say whatever they want, and I will see it. I’ve had all kinds of nasty things said about my weight, acting. Everything you can imagine. In some of them, I’m so tempted to respond, not be mean and put them in their place, but kill them with kindness. I did that with one person and I was like, “You know what, why am I giving any attention, energy to this?” There are all of these wonderful things that other people are saying and I’m not focusing on them, not saying anything to them but I’m focusing on this nasty person who’s just focused on really awful things to say. Once, I gave into temptation and I’ll never do it again.

Okay, this is from the new Smash promo…that’s Ivy and Karen dancing around a guy in the middle who is not Michael Swift - so probably not Joe DiMaggio. IDK what this scene is or what’s going on, so I’m confused, and I’d like to know.

Fact: Ivy Lynn in sweats, in the middle of the rehearsal room performing “Secondhand White Baby Grand” was way better and a dazillion times more moving than that elaborate Bollywood number, which was pretty good but made me wonder “what’s the point of this???”… Megan Hilty, you are perfect. PERFECT I TELL YOU, PERFECTTTTTT. Come on Smash, she’s the most amazing Marilyn!!!
I think the better character is debatable, since Ivy does plenty of nasty stuff, but I think what we find appealing is that she’s actually human. As Megan puts it, she’s deeply flawed and I think that’s what makes us on Team Ivy love her. She’s got flaws but she’s got her good points too, just like a real person. Karen’s got her own flaws and such, but I don’t think they developed her quite as much as some of the others.
